Successful police strike: Four burglars arrested in Aschaffenburg!
In a successful operation against organized crime, the Aschaffenburg criminal police carried out careful investigations, which led to the arrest of four men between the ages of 25 and 37. They are Albanian nationals and are suspected of being involved in several burglaries, particularly in Baden-Württemberg. The arrests took place on November 21st after extensive investigations were initiated, which were initially triggered by burglaries in the Miltenberg district. These break-ins could be directly linked to the suspects, reports in-und-um-schweinfurt.de.
A particularly bold break-in occurred in the Werbach community: On Friday evening, around 6 p.m., the perpetrators broke into a single-family home and caused property damage of around 3,000 euros. They also broke into Gerchsheim-Großrinderfeld around 7:15 p.m., causing similar damage again. At the moment it is still unclear how much damage is caused by the loot, the authorities continued. At the request of the Mosbach public prosecutor's office, the detainees were brought before an investigating judge, who issued arrest warrants on strong suspicion of residential burglary in two cases.
Cooperation between authorities
The Aschaffenburg criminal police are currently continuing to investigate intensively and are working closely with the Aschaffenburg public prosecutor's office as well as the Tauberbischofsheim criminal police and the Mosbach public prosecutor's office to investigate further possible crimes. Authorities are confident that these mishaps will be brought to light.
A look at developments in theft crime in Germany shows that around 5.8 million crimes were registered in 2024, with theft crimes accounting for over 1.94 million cases. Although residential burglaries rose slightly by 0.8% to 78,436 cases, they are still 9.9% below the 2019 level. Technical measures and prevention work could have played a role here, such as bka.de reported.
The clearance rate for theft crimes is sometimes alarmingly low at just 31.4%, while the figures for residential burglaries still remain at 15.3%. This underlines the challenge that the police and judiciary must overcome in combating such crimes in order to ensure the safety of our homes.
The events surrounding the arrests in Aschaffenburg are a good step towards a more effective fight against burglary crime. The authorities hope to find more solutions for citizens through more intensive cooperation and consistent investigations.
