However, the Berliners' euphoria only lasted for a short time, as Max Penkin gave the Eagles the lead again just one turn of the pointer later, which kept the game exciting.

The second half began with another setback for the Eisbären when Anthony Greco increased Mannheim's lead to 3-1 in the 31st minute. But the home team was not discouraged and continued to fight. Leonhard Pföderl scored the goal in the 48th minute, boosting the energy in the team and in the ranks. Shortly afterwards, in the 50th minute, Vikingstad was able to equalize again with a solo - the crowd was over the moon!

After an exciting final section, the game went into extra time, where the Eisbären excelled despite the setbacks.
