Things got down to business quickly, as Mannheim opened the game with a goal from Lukas Kälble after less than a minute. After just 25 seconds it was already 0-1 for the guests. But the Eisbären were unimpressed and equalized in the 10th minute through Markus Vikingstad. However, the Berliners' euphoria only lasted for a short time, as Max Penkin gave the Eagles the lead again just one turn of the pointer later, which kept the game exciting.
Change of power in the second half
The second half began with another setback for the Eisbären when Anthony Greco increased Mannheim's lead to 3-1 in the 31st minute. But the home team was not discouraged and continued to fight. Leonhard Pföderl scored the goal in the 48th minute, boosting the energy in the team and in the ranks. Shortly afterwards, in the 50th minute, Vikingstad was able to equalize again with a solo - the crowd was over the moon!
After an exciting final section, the game went into extra time, where the Eisbären excelled despite the setbacks. Ty Ronning eventually became the match winner when he scored the winning goal in the 62nd minute. The Eisbären achieved a spectacular comeback victory against the leaders from Mannheim.

After the game, coach Serge Aubin was full of praise for the second half of the game and his team's transition game. Markus Vikingstad also highlighted the important support of the fans in the final section, which drove the team to peak performance.
