Mannheim pedals: CITY CYCLING 2025 starts now!

The city of Mannheim and the Mannheim Climate Protection Agency invite all cycling lovers to take part in this year's edition of the internationally renowned CITY CYCLING. From June 23rd to July 13th, 2025 the motto is again: “Cycling for a good climate!”. This eighth edition of the campaign is intended to encourage many people to promote climate-friendly mobility habits again this year. Loud MRN News Last year, 4,473 cyclists took part in 207 teams - a remarkable increase that shows how much cycling is becoming more important in society.

Mayor Christian Specht will pedal again this time and, together with many city administration colleagues, will set an example for climate protection. Everyone who lives in Mannheim, works, goes to school or college or belongs to a club is warmly invited to take part. Registration takes place on the website stadtradeln.de/mannheim or via the CITY CYCLING app.

Together for a greener future

The motto “Cycle together, for a greener future” not only invites you to achieve top sporting achievements, but also promotes a sense of community and commitment to climate protection. The app records the kilometers cycled, which not only shows personal progress, but also collects important data to improve the cycling infrastructure.

This round is also looking for a CITY CYCLING star who will completely avoid driving for the entire three weeks and share his experiences via social media and a blog. Those interested can also register via the website to become part of this committed movement.

Supporting program and exciting events

The CITY CYCLING supporting program will be enriched by a variety of activities in 2025. Among other things, guided bike tours, city tours and a travel lecture about cycling trips in Germany are planned. The Rhine-Neckar company bike day will also be a highlight. For the younger participants there is the “Tour de Karl” for schoolchildren as well as the popular free bike tours.

It will be particularly exciting for the teams: a challenge cup in the shape of the Mannheim water tower will be awarded to the team that cycles the most total kilometers. Last year's winning team, “Grüner Gockel Regio Süd”, has already been integrated into this year's campaign to increase the incentive and motivate the participants.

The CITY CYCLING organizer also has great prizes available for all active participants, which are provided by regional partners. So if you are still unsure, you should act now: Registration is still possible and every kilometer counts!
