Burglaries in Heilbronn: Police are looking for witnesses to several crimes!

In the last few days, several incidents have occurred in Heilbronn and the surrounding area, from break-ins to traffic accidents. The police are looking for witnesses to solve this crime and increase security in the region.

The break-in at a youth center in Heilbronn-Sontheim is particularly alarming. Unknown perpetrators broke in here between Monday evening and Tuesday morning. They forced open an emergency exit door and got inside, while an attempt to break open an office door failed. The burglars only stole a few items of little value and were able to escape undetected. The police are urgently looking for witnesses 07131 74790 should report. Another break-in in a ground floor apartment on Bezierstrasse, which was carried out between October 20th and 27th, also leaves citizens with an uneasy feeling. Here the police also received information that the perpetrators gained access through a window, although the exact amount of damage and whether anything was stolen is still unclear. Witnesses are also asked to come forward.

The burglary situation in Germany

The phenomenon of home break-ins has increased again in recent years following the Corona pandemic. According to a report by Statista There were a total of 119,000 thefts in 2023, including 77,800 residential burglaries. This is the highest level since 2019, but still over 50% lower than in 2015. Urban areas are particularly at risk, with the clearance rate for these types of offenses being just 14.9% - well below the rate for all crimes overall.

In Heilbronn, break-ins were also found on construction sites and in company buildings. In one case, a cellar door was forced open, resulting in air conditioning and ventilation equipment worth a low five-figure euro range being stolen. Here too, the police are looking for clues.

Traffic accidents and fires

But it wasn't just burglaries that concerned the police in the region. On Tuesday evening there was a traffic accident in Heilbronn-Neckargartach when the driver of a white BMW gave way to a Pedelec driver (47). The Pedelec driver fell and sustained minor injuries. The driver, a blonde, glasses-wearing woman aged between 30 and 40, continued her journey without stopping. Witnesses are also needed here - especially an Opel driver who observed the incident.

Another incident occurred the same evening when an Audi driver overlooked a scooter driver (37) at an intersection. Here, too, the scooter driver did not escape unscathed; he was thrown against the windshield. It is estimated that the damage to the Audi is around 5,000 euros, while the exact damage to the scooter is still pending.

Just recently there was a truck fire on Autobahn 81 between Sinsheim and Bad Rappenau. Here, a technical defect caused smoke to develop, and the driver was just able to alert the emergency services before her attempt to extinguish the fire herself failed. Thanks to the fire department's quick response, the vehicle was prevented from being completely lost.

This large number of incidents underlines the attention that both citizens and the police must pay during this time. It remains to be hoped that with the help of the public and the police, security in Heilbronn and the surrounding area can soon be increased again.
