Art connects: Treffpunkt Kunst” in Görlitz starts with 52 artists!
Things get down to business in Görlitz! The exhibition “Treffpunkt Kunst” opened its doors in the Annenkapelle on August 24, 2025 and offers an exciting encounter between artists from East and West Germany. How Sächsische.de reported, 52 artists are showing their works, including 21 from the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg and 31 from Upper Lusatia. This joint members' exhibition of the two art associations aims to unite the creative potential of both regions and promote cooperation.
The range of works of art is impressive: from romantic landscape watercolors to still lifes and monochrome ink drawings to large-format paintings in acrylic and oil. Textile artworks and sculptural works are also part of the exhibition. This creative meeting is a response to the recently audible tensions between East and West. The long partnership between the districts will be further expanded next September, which will provide additional positive impulses.
An event of encounter
The aim of this event is clear: to create a meeting event between the Neckar-Odenwald and Görlitz districts. Kulturraum-On.de explains that the exhibition can be seen from August 24th to September 28th, 2025, every day except Mondays and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The official kick-off took place with a vernissage at which Dr. Stephan Meyer and Dr. Achim Brötel appeared as a speaker. A catalog documenting the exhibition has also been published to record the experience.
The various art associations bring with them numerous talents, including artists such as Gabriele Beinlich, Michael Förster and Viktoriya Gorodetska from the Upper Lusatian art scene. This diversity is also reflected in the selection of exhibits. The upcoming exhibition in April and May 2025 in Buchen/Odenwald had a similar goal: to promote artist encounters and create a common understanding between the regions.
Building bridges between cultures
The “Treffpunkt Kunst” exhibition is not only a showcase for artistic creation, but also a strong platform for dialogue between cultures. How OstkunstWest.de shows, there is an exciting convergence of tradition and modernity that captivates visitors. A visit to the Annenkapelle is definitely worth it! This is an invitation not only to art lovers, but to everyone who is interested in cultural development and overcoming old barriers.
The exhibition is more than just an art event; it is a strong sign of solidarity and a sense of community at a time when we should pay particular attention to standing together and understanding each other. So if you have time between the holidays, you shouldn't miss this inspiring gathering!
