Höpfingen Music Association celebrates 100 years: A celebration for the community!
The Höpfingen Music Association recently celebrated a significant milestone: on August 2, 2025, the association celebrated its 100th anniversary in the festively decorated fruit and festival hall. This event attracted numerous prominent guests, including Manfred Schell and state parliament member Peter Hauk. They all witnessed a celebration that was full of music, emotions and looking back on a successful club history. My-News reports that The evening was opened with an atmospheric overture by the traditional costume band under the direction of Holger Dörr.
The two board members, Stefan Gerig and Stefan Häfner, did not miss the opportunity to warmly welcome the numerous guests. Peter Hauk, who emphasized the importance of the music association for the community in his welcoming speech, received much applause. Also Dr. Björn-Christian Kleih, First State Official, congratulated and took a look at the club's history, while Mayor Christian Hauk praised the club's role in local life. Herbert Münkel, President of the Brass Music Association, praised the musical quality of the orchestra and confirmed that the association's persistence and commitment are highly valued in the region.
Looking back at the club's history
The speech by Manfred Schell was particularly impressive, as he delivered greetings from well-known personalities such as Peter Maffay and Mario Adorf. He took those present on a journey through the history of the club, which was founded in 1925 and has experienced many ups and downs over time, especially during the turbulent times of the Second World War. A central part of the evening was the mention of the youth band, which has had a permanent place in the club since 1968 and is complemented by the friendship with the FGH 70 “Höpfemer Schnapsbrenner”.
A special highlight was the presentation of a short film that dealt with the club's training and youth work, and the numerous greetings from friendly clubs from places such as Nordkirchen, Kraftisried and Dohrgaul. These warm words testify not only to the tradition, but also to the networking and sense of community that the Höpfingen Music Association embodies. FN-Web adds that The winners of the guessing game were also honored in a solemn atmosphere and received their prizes with joy. These included, among others, Karl Häfner, Gerd Münch, Heike Janson and Nils Edelmann.
An unforgettable evening
Conductor Holger Dörr finally drew an emotional balance of the evening and emphasized how important the community and the lived tradition are for the future of the club. The lively exchange and the joy of making music together were celebrated until well after midnight. This made it clear that the Höpfingen music club not only can look back on a proud past, but is also well positioned for the coming years. One could say that the event was a successful homage to a living tradition and showed the audience that music will continue to be an important part of village life in the future.
