Creative minds present their final works at the Pforzheimer Werkschau!

On July 10, 2025, Pforzheim University will present an exciting showcase that will focus on showcase projects by its talented students. In the university's inner courtyard, a visual concept attracts visitors' attention and creates a creative ambience in which theses and term papers can be admired. The students have also prepared a special surprise for the guests: figures that will be distributed as 3D-printed keychains. These small accessories are not only practical, but can often also be individually designed and are therefore a sign of personal creativity. According to cults3d, 3D printing enables the creation of unique designs that would be difficult to achieve using traditional methods.

Overall, the university's efforts to promote new talent are evident: with 557 applications for the coming winter semester, which is roughly the same as last year, the Industrial Design (104 applications) and Visual Communication (61 applications) courses are particularly popular. Transportation Design also stands out in the master's area with 114 applications.

Creative projects and innovative approaches

The projects that the students have developed are particularly exciting. Kaan Hizal designed a futuristic vehicle concept, the TENSEI ONE, for Mazda, inspired by cork and Wankel engines. Rohit Iyer, on the other hand, brings a breath of fresh air into the automotive industry with his innovative seating concept “Rebel Luxury” for Porsche and emphasizes individual design. These creative approaches show that Pforzheim University has a good knack for future-oriented design.

But that's not all: in Felicitas Mercedes Wasner's bachelor's thesis, silver and chocolate combine to create a unique experience. Contributions like “Mask-ulinity” by Julian Graeve deal with social role models, while in her work “Spatial Memories” Felina Russ creates atmospheric VR worlds that all address deeper themes.
These works not only illustrate the creative range of the students, but also show the relevance of topics such as identity, society and the future in today's art and design field.

User-focused initiatives and programs

The university also relies on targeted information events: A newly designed bachelor's information day with portfolio consultations and lectures offers interested applicants the opportunity to get to know the programs better. The “Catapult” orientation program is highlighted as an excellent concept and gives young talents space to test their artistic potential. These measures are important in order to increase interest in the various study programs and to offer students a solid basis for their artistic careers.

The university's commitment is also reflected in its collaboration with industrial partners: the “Colour Summit” workshop day in cooperation with Font-Verlag illustrates the close connection between theory and practice. In addition to these offers, there was also recently an AI lecture series in which experts such as automotive photographer René Staud provide insights into innovative technologies.

Pforzheim University is clearly on course to not only prepare its students for a successful course of study, but also to establish them in the creative industry. This makes the exhibition an exciting showcase for fresh ideas and future designers who may soon enrich the scene.
