Art & Cocktails: Experience feminism in the exhibition Not Your Choice!”
In the A.K.T. An exciting chapter is about to open in Pforzheim: the exhibition “NOT YOUR CHOICE!” opens on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 7 p.m. Under the motto of gender equality, the audience is taken on a diverse journey through the world of feminist art. The exhibition aims to raise important awareness of women's issues in our society, which must not lose importance for a democratic future. At a time when the topic of equality is occasionally neglected, the show addresses the challenges of women's self-determination and external determination and thus provides relevant impulses for the social discussion, as reported Pforzheim.de.
The exhibition is supported by Pforzheim University, where students from the Master's program in Design & Future Making explore questions about the future in the MADLAB. In order to make the content accessible to all age groups, special tours are also offered for school classes, led by Janusz Czech, the artistic director, and Almut Benkert from the creative industries department. These educational offerings sharpen the view of the critical issues of the current time and complement the artistic discussion in an informed manner PZ News.
Art & Cocktails – A new trend in A.K.T.
For anyone looking for a special experience, the A.K.T. On Saturday, June 21st, a new format was launched: “Art & Cocktails”. From 6 p.m., visitors can take part in an exclusive guided tour of the exhibition. Afterwards, three small cocktails – also non-alcoholic – and a delicious antipasti plate are waiting to be enjoyed in Café Roland. This event costs 25 euros and should be registered in advance. The exhibition will remain open until Friday, July 6, 2025. If you don't want to miss the experience, you have the opportunity to discover the works of twelve talented artists on Fridays and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. These include video works, installations, photography, painting, printmaking, book objects and performances, all of which flow into the theme and encourage visitors to think.
Art is more than just a picture on the wall - at A.K.T. shows once again how profound and relevant it is for our social discourse. With “NOT YOUR CHOICE!” The exhibition creates a space to reflect on equality, identity and the role of women in our time.
