Ravensburg goes green: New lantern charging points make e-mobility easier!
Something is happening in the area of electromobility in Ravensburg! Technical Works Schussental (TWS) has taken another step into the future by expanding its charging offering. Two new lantern charging points have been in operation since August 12, 2025, making it easier for drivers to access renewable energy at Obere Breite Straße 31 and Weinbergstraße 38. This innovation shows how space can be saved and resources conserved - after all, the new charging points use the existing infrastructure.
The lantern charging points, which fit perfectly into the streetscape, each offer a charging capacity of 22 kilowatts and are therefore just as powerful as standard AC charging stations. Numerous payment options are available, including QR code transactions with credit and debit cards as well as with the tws charging card. External charging cards can also be used, providing maximum convenience to users. A total of four lantern charging points are now available in Ravensburg, which also include the existing locations at MitteLöschstrasse 18 and Charlottenstrasse 27. Ravensburg.de reports that this development not only simplifies the charging process, but also minimizes structural interventions in the city area.
Innovative technology for the future
In the course of this step, the technological basis must not be missing. The e-charging stations come from the Berlin start-up Ebee, which has already integrated its first lantern on Charlottenstrasse. At this location, electric car drivers can charge with an output of 11 kW - an impressive example of smart solutions. Further charging lanterns are planned: initially there will be three charging points available in Ravensburg and two more charging points in the neighboring town of Weingarten. A total of 78 new charging points are planned throughout the region. According to ZFK.de, this approach makes using the existing infrastructure easier and more cost-effective than building new e-charging stations.
If you would like to find out more about the current charging facilities in Germany, you will find it on the interactive map from the Bundesnetzagentur. This map shows all operators with stored data, whereby interested users can access additional information about each charging facility. The technical equipment and operator addresses can also be easily found on this, which contributes to further transparency of the charging system.
The expansion of the charging infrastructure in Ravensburg is a positive step that shows how seriously the switch to electromobility is being taken. E-car drivers now not only have more options, but can also enjoy the advantages of electromobility in a simple and resource-saving way. The future of mobility has begun in Ravensburg, and the city is definitely keeping up with the times.
