VfB fans celebrate on the Schorndorf market square despite the heat wave!
On Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, the motto on the Schorndorf market square was: “Welcome to the big VfB party!” Despite the oppressive heat of over 30 degrees Celsius and a heat warning, numerous fans came to experience VfB Stuttgart's DFB Cup up close. The event was part of the “VfB im Ländle” summer tour and promised a lot of sporting fun.
From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., visitors could not only admire the trophy, but also take souvenir photos with the coveted trophy. VfB presented its mascot Fritzle and made the fans' hearts beat faster. “The joy over the trophy is obvious,” reported a fan who insisted on waiting in line for a photo.
Stage program and participatory activities
The supporting program was an experience for young and old. On stage, the well-known stadium announcer Holger Laser, VfB President Dietmar Allgaier and VfB board member Rouven Kasper provided exciting talks and insights. The VfB legends also had their place, and sporting activities and competitions could be tried out during the breaks. There were many hands-on activities for the little ones, which were well received.
Particularly noteworthy was the stand of Stars4Kids, a partner of the VfB “Bruring der Herzen” foundation, whose proceeds benefit the flood victims in Rudersberg. Such actions underline the club's social philosophy and its commitment to the community.
Nights of celebrations
The euphoria surrounding winning the DFB Cup is undoubtedly great. On Saturday evening, Atakan Karazor presented the trophy after the team won the cup in Berlin. The reception in Stuttgart took place on Sunday after the team landed shortly after 1 p.m. Whether received in the town hall or during the parade to Schlossplatz – the atmosphere is unsurpassed.
The Schlossplatz opened its doors on Sunday at 11 a.m. and offered space for up to 35,000 fans. A big event with a screen showing the DFB Cup final, including the award ceremony, brought even more football feeling to the city. The stage program continued there from 1 p.m., with various performances that lasted until the evening hours.
The next stops of the “VfB im Ländle” summer tour will follow on June 28th in Ludwigsburg, on June 29th in Calw, on July 20th in Albstadt and on July 27th in Heilbronn. You shouldn't miss the chance to celebrate VfB and its successes live!
