The consequences of this accident were devastating: the driver of the Dacia died at the scene of the accident, while the driver of the 40-ton truck was trapped in the driver's cab in a critical condition. It took rescue workers about 45 minutes to free him, after which he was flown to hospital in a rescue helicopter. Another truck driver also suffered a hand injury.
