FC Holzhausen demolishes Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen with a 5-0 bang!

On Saturday, the Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen started a new season, which began with a challenging start against the runner-up FC Holzhausen. The journey to the game took the team over two hours on the road and was a real challenge due to temperatures of over 30 degrees. A hot day for the kickers, who still went into the game optimistic.

The first minutes belonged to FC Holzhausen. Already in the 5th and 9th minutes, Michel tried to test the Sportfreunde goalkeeper, Junker, with his shots. But the guests were able to fight back and slowly found their way into the game, even if they couldn't create any really dangerous shots. In the 18th minute it was Michel who was spot on and made it 1-0 for Holzhausen. Dorfmerkingen's Ehrmann had a good opportunity in the 23rd minute, but hesitated and fired too weakly.

A clear lead at halftime

FC Holzhausen dominated the game, leaving the Sportfreunde hardly any space for relief attacks and deservedly leading 1-0 at half-time. Things remained exciting in the second half, but the hosts quickly took a comfortable lead. In the 59th minute, Steinhilber made it 2-0 after a misunderstanding in the visitors' defense. The next goals didn't take long to arrive: Michel scored his brace in the 75th and 76th minutes and increased the score to 3-0 and 4-0.

Bitter defeat for Dorfmerkingen

In stoppage time, Seeger put the final score to 5-0 for Holzhausen and thus sealed the bitter defeat of Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen. The coach's team now expected a powerful reaction in the next home game against Schwäbisch Hall, where the first point of the season urgently needs to be scored.

The line-up of the Sportfreunde was: Junker - Hald, Marianek, Rodewald, Walter (Schneider 63rd), Sapper, Gunst (Jablonski 73rd), Ehrmann (Schwarzer 62nd), Nietzer (Michel 87th), Camara, Rauser (Truffelini 81%). The goals were scored by Michel (18th, 75th, 76th), Steinhilber (59th) and Seeger (90th + 1).

In summary, the defeat shows that the Sportfreunde still have a lot of work to do if they want to survive in the further course of the season. A look at the next challenges will show whether they can learn from this defeat and present themselves better.
