Finally put an end to the redirection! B 465 will be released on Wednesday

Drivers in the region can breathe a sigh of relief: the lengthy diversion between Warthausen and Schemmerhofen is finally on the home stretch. Since the beginning of May it's all been about construction site noise and diversions, but now the end is in sight. The route will be reopened on Wednesday, July 9th, as the Tübingen regional council, which is overseeing the work, announced in a recent announcement. Visitors and residents can look forward to a smoother journey.

The construction site, which stretches over approximately 3.1 kilometers, included both the renewal of the road surface and the repair of a bridge over a cattle culvert. The original plan was to complete the work by June 25, but weather conditions and unfinished work in the banquet area caused delays. These were necessary to ensure the traffic safety of the route.

Detailed information about the construction site

The renovation began on May 5, 2025 and was a comprehensive project that, among other things, aimed to eliminate ruts, cracks and other structural defects. The repair of the bridge was particularly due to damage caused by de-icing salt and the high traffic load. The work was organized in two construction phases, which ran separately through the junction of the K 7530 near Röhrwangen.

The traffic was diverted over various routes: Traffic from Biberach to Ehingen was routed via the B 465 to the L 267 to Herrlishhöfen, then on via Äpfingen and the L 266 to Schemmerhofen. Conversely, drivers used the L 266 to Aßmannshardt and then the L 273 to Warthausen. 30 km/h was mandatory in numerous towns along the diversion route in order to reduce noise.

A look at the costs and financing

As far as the financial aspects are concerned, this is a project that amounts to a total construction cost of around 1.1 million euros for the paving work, supplemented by around 100,000 euros for the bridge repairs. These investments are fully funded by the federal government, which shows how important maintaining and improving road infrastructure is for the region.

There is a practical tip for everyone who is still thinking about what the road is like. Current information is available on the Baden-Württemberg Road Traffic Center homepage at www.verkehrsinfo-bw.de, where drivers can always stay informed about construction sites and traffic conditions.

This much can be said: Drivers in our region can now look to the future with more optimism. The long diversion will soon be over and an improved traffic situation is just around the corner.
