For comparison: The “Highly Cited Researchers 2018” report listed 356 scientists from Germany who are also among the top 1% of most cited researchers worldwide. This shows that the German research landscape has developed enormously. The HCR list lists author names from publications that appeared on the “Web of Science” platform between 2006 and 2016. The number of citations required varies depending on the subject area; clinical medicine has the most, while agricultural and economic sciences as well as pharmacology have the lowest requirements.
