Celebrate 20 years of Slowup Hochrhein: Car-free Sunday in Laufenburg!
Next Sunday, June 15th, things will really come alive in Laufenburg, Switzerland! The 20th Slowup Hochrhein, a popular event without motorized traffic, is celebrating its anniversary. Ride a bike or come on foot - the 32-kilometer route is a picturesque circular route that leads through eight cities and towns in Germany and Switzerland. True to the motto “The main thing is car-free”, visitors can look forward to a great program from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The festival begins at 9:30 a.m. with speeches from political celebrities on stage, followed by musical performances by five bands from the Fricktal. From dialect rock to lively acoustic music, there is something for every musical taste. The open-air concert has the following highlights:
- 09.30 Uhr: TRIONETTLI (Trio aus Laufenburg)
- 11.00 Uhr: Timo Sacher (Singer-Songwriter)
- 12.30 Uhr: Klangtastisch (Acapella-Pop Chor)
- 14.15 Uhr: Torchlight (Rock Band)
- 16.00 Uhr: No Caps (Metalcore Band)
As suedkurier.de reports, the route between Bad Säckingen and Laufenburg will be closed to car traffic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This means: Quiet cycling and walking paths without noise and exhaust fumes! When traveling, it is recommended to use a bicycle as parking is limited and public transport is limited during the closure.
A feast for all senses
The atmosphere is complemented by an extensive culinary offering. In particular, the Münsterplatz in Bad Säckingen is transformed into a festive mile, while musical entertainment at the Codman facility in Laufenburg ensures a good mood. Visitors can look forward to local delicacies and a large selection of dishes.
Entertaining attractions such as DJ Steve in Murg and other walking acts are also on the program throughout the event. The “Oniversum” presentation of the giant dragon Onil will certainly be a highlight for young and old.
Accessibility and vignettes
Another positive aspect of the event is accessibility: all routes and festival areas are accessible to people with disabilities, there are disabled-accessible toilets and power connections. To finance the event, a voluntary vignette was introduced for 5 euros or 5 francs to support the visit.
The slowup.ch emphasizes that this is an event for all age groups - whether you are a passionate cyclist or a music lover: there is something for everyone here. Celebrate the anniversary of Slowup Hochrhein with us and enjoy an unforgettable day of music, cuisine and healthy exercise!
