There was a big celebration in Inzlingen last weekend. The occasion? Piram Stahl- und Metallbau, an integral part of the region, is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The festivities took place in the company's spacious halls on Schlossstrasse and attracted numerous visitors, including citizens, customers and representatives of other companies. A big hello was guaranteed!
The guests had the opportunity to tour the company. Practical demonstrations were offered on the machine park, which is equipped with modern equipment such as laser welding robots, CNC sheet metal processing machines and water jet cutting machines. In his speech, managing director Thomas Früh emphasized how important climate protection is to him and the company. A visible sign of this orientation is the newly installed photovoltaic system on the company's roof. In addition, our own nitrogen is produced for laser welding in order to avoid unnecessary transport. This is not only good for the environment, but also shows that Piram really knows his craft.
Social commitment is reflected in donations
As part of the celebrations, two donation checks for a total of 2,000 euros were presented. Mayor Marco Muchenberger accepted the amounts: 1,500 euros will go to a tree planting campaign in Inzlingen, while 500 euros will go to the castle association for the renovation of the planetary path. Here Piram proves that social commitment is not only expressed in words, but also in actions.
Of course, the anniversary celebration was also accompanied by culinary delights. A morning pint concert with the band “Blechfieber” provided musical entertainment, while guests were able to take part in a cake sale to benefit the Buttenberg School. There was definitely a bit of a folk festival atmosphere!

But what is actually behind the name Piram? According to the lexicon Abarim Publications, it could come from the Hebrew word פרא, meaning “wild donkey”. In addition, the verb “to divide” or “to multiply” is also derived from it. This shows once again that the name is associated with growth and development. The company owners certainly had a good hand in coming up with a name!
