Excitement at Art Night: Driver threatens volunteer helper!
On Friday, June 27th, the fourth art night took place in Aichach, which attracted numerous visitors to the town square. Over 50 creative minds, including artists, clubs and restaurateurs, provided the best entertainment with a colorful program. The guests were not only able to marvel at live activities such as chainsaw art and graffiti, but also get active themselves, for example by painting puff pictures or making wreaths. Culinary delicacies such as cream pastries and regional beers rounded off the diverse offering, which began at 5 p.m. and lasted until the evening hours. There was also a lot of music on offer, including a performance by the singer-songwriter duo Tom and Häns and a Lebenshilfe choir.
But while the art night was a celebration of creativity for many, an unfortunate incident occurred. A 39-year-old driver got into an argument with a volunteer who was trying to ensure safety on an emergency vehicle that was standing sideways. The driver ignored the traffic signs set up by the city that blocked access to the city center and asked the helper to let him pass. When he pointed out the security situation, the situation escalated: the driver insulted, threatened and pushed the helper before finally driving away. The threatened person wrote down the license plate number, which led to the 39-year-old being identified more quickly by the police. She filed a complaint alleging insults, threats and coercion.
Diverse offers and artistic highlights
The Aichach Art Night offered participants extraordinary opportunities to be active with art. Visitors were able to watch pottery being made live and try their hand at hands-on stations such as the painting laboratory on canvas or gilding pebbles. Particular highlights were the exhibitions in the Köglturm and the Aichacher Galerie Schiele, where impressive works by local artists were presented.
- Live-Aktionen: Motorsägen-Kunst, Graffiti, Straßenmalerei, Live-Töpfern
- Mitmachstationen: Pustebilder, Farbschleuder, afrikanisches Trommeln
- Kulinarisches: vielfältige Speisen und Getränke, darunter Falafel und Waffeln
Volunteers for more safety on the roads
The incident highlights the importance of the work of volunteers, who often support road safety. Initiatives such as those run by Malteser and Deutsche Verkehrswacht train volunteers who are willing to help others and raise awareness of road safety. These helpers not only make a valuable contribution to traffic education, but also accompany unsafe road users and provide information about important safety topics.
With creative events such as the Art Night and the tireless efforts of volunteers, it is clear in Aichach that not only art and culture is upheld, but also safety in public spaces is ensured. But it remains to be hoped that incidents like the one between the driver and the helper will not occur in the future.
While the art night was a success for many, the unfortunate dispute sheds light on the challenges that volunteers often have to overcome. May their important work continue to be honored and secured so that both art and security accents can be set in the city of Aichach.
