Medical lectures in Aichach: Health topics that move!
Health awareness in the region continues to increase - this is also reflected in the upcoming series of medical lectures, which will be organized at the beginning of October by the adult education center of the Aichach-Friedberg district in cooperation with the clinics at the Paar. An exciting mix of topics is offered, ranging from keyhole surgery to cardiological prevention. The first lecture, which starts on Wednesday, October 8th, will be given by Dr. Gabriel Stoinescu, the head of gynecology at Friedberg Hospital, and is entitled: “Small incision – big effect: keyhole surgery in gynecology”.
The series includes a total of four lectures until the end of the year. On October 22nd and 29th the focus will be on hip pain. Here, Dr. Tobias Köhler, chief physician of trauma surgery and orthopedics, and Holger Haak, senior physician, provide an insight into modern hip surgery. The aim is to show participants how an active lifestyle can remain possible despite hip problems.
Deepening into medical topics
Another highlight will be the lecture by Dr. Heiko Methe, who will give a lecture on “Avoid a heart attack – healthy vessels, a healthy heart” on November 12th in Friedberg and on November 19th in Aichach. Heart health is a key issue that unfortunately affects many people. The doctors want to help prevent heart disease with practical tips and important information.
Last but not least, visitors can expect a lecture by Dr. Patrick von Parpart, head of general and visceral surgery. His lecture entitled “Problem area buttocks: What causes pain in the worst possible way” is dedicated to diseases such as hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Information is also provided about various treatment options.
Practical information and participation
All events take place at 6 p.m., in Mering the lecture starts at 6:30 p.m. The lectures last until a maximum of 7:30 p.m. Registration is not required and anyone can take part for just three euros - members of the support associations are even allowed in free of charge. The venues are the entrance hall of the hospital in Aichach, the lecture hall of the staff dormitory in Friedberg and the library in Mering.
The importance of medical education in the form of such events is becoming increasingly recognized. The benefits of keyhole surgery, such as that used in arthroscopies to treat hip pain, include faster recovery and less pain after the procedure. Dr. med. Benjamin Bartels, head of the department for arthroscopic knee and hip surgery at the Paracelsus Clinic Bremen, in a free lecture that will take place on October 6th at 5 p.m. The focus of the lecture is on the possibilities and limitations of arthroscopic treatment and shows how important early detection is for the success of the therapy.
Such events go hand in hand with the aim of providing the population with comprehensive information about modern treatment methods and prevention strategies. The Clinic for General, Visceral and Thoracic Surgery at Marienhospital Stuttgart, for example, carries out over 1,000 groin, umbilical and incisional hernia operations every year, with keyhole surgery playing a central role.
