Altöttinge Farmers' Day 2025: Together for strong agriculture!

On October 30, 2025, numerous farmers and interested parties from the entire Altötting district met at the Spirklwirt in Kastl to properly celebrate the Altötting District Farmers' Day. The day was all about exchange and strengthening the agricultural community, as [Bayerischerbauernverband] reports. Under the direction of Richard Straubinger, district chairman of the Bavarian Farmers' Association, the program opened with a review of the year. We looked back on the challenges and successes of the past year.

The district chairman welcomed those present and pointed out the upcoming issues in his speech. As part of the evening, there were greetings from Mayor Gottfried Mitterer and an entertaining performance by the “Marktler Theaterbrettl”, which entertained the guests with humorous and dialect sketches. A particularly interesting part of the evening was the lecture by company founder Josef Fliegl Senior, who reported on his life's work and gave valuable insights into the development of agriculture.

Awards and honors

An important tradition of the district farmers' day is honoring outstanding achievements in agriculture. New masters and technicians were recognized for their successes. These honors are not only recognition, but also motivation for everyone involved to do their best and move the industry forward. District farmer Gabriele Eberl concluded the evening with positive closing words, which also included an outlook on the challenges of the future.

Overall, this event saw strong solidarity and shared joy in what many describe as “the most beautiful job in the world,” as [pnp] noted. Topics such as land consumption, the challenges in animal husbandry and current debates on animal welfare were particularly discussed. These topics are not only at the heart of discussions in agriculture, but also show how important dialogue is with one another.

Achievements and outlook

The participants agreed: The importance of agriculture, especially in today's world, is unmistakable. The main theme of the evening made it clear that despite all the challenges, there was also a lot of positive things to report. The district farmers' day was a platform to develop ideas and strategies for the future and to further strengthen the agricultural community.

As you can see, the Altöttinger District Farmers' Day is not just a celebration, but also an important meeting point for the exchange about the future course in agriculture. It is clear that both tradition and progress must go hand in hand at this event in order to continue to positively shape the future of agriculture in the Altötting district.
