Heat warning in southeast Bavaria: temperatures are rising dangerously high!

Currently, summer in our latitudes is once again bringing with it extreme temperatures - and not too short! The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a heat warning for southeast Bavaria in this context. The warning, which has been in force since Tuesday, August 11th at 11 a.m., is valid until Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. and particularly affects the city and district of Rosenheim as well as the districts of Traunstein, Berchtesgadener Land, Mühldorf and Altötting.

In the next few days, people here can look forward to high temperatures of around 30 degrees, but be careful! A strong heat load is forecast up to a height of 800 meters, which should not be underestimated. After a day with strong heat exposure up to 600 meters in the past few days, this is the third heat warning in a row.

Health risks

The high heat not only brings beautiful summer days, but also poses health risks. Vulnerable groups, such as older people, infants and people with chronic previous illnesses, are particularly at risk. The Heat warnings portal points out that even sensitive people can suffer from the strain even without official warnings.

High UV exposure is also to be expected, which poses further risks. The only thing that helps here is to stay in the shade as much as possible and manage your time outside well. The Robert Koch Institute emphasizes that heat will increase in the coming decades due to climate change and could have a significant impact on the health and well-being of the population. Preventative heat protection is essential here.

Weather forecast and outlook

As meteorologist Kai Zorn explains, summer is back and comes with lots of sun. But the risk of thunderstorms and showers could increase slightly by the end of the week. So it remains exciting when it comes to the weather situation! In the next few days, monitoring temperatures and air quality will be crucial in order to provide reliable information for all citizens.

The heat warnings are continually updated, with the DWD constantly evaluating the criteria for accuracy. For anyone who does not want to succumb to heat stress, it is advisable to regularly monitor current developments and take protective measures if necessary.

So pay attention, dear readers! A good knack for protecting yourself from the heat and a healthy dose of caution are needed more than ever these days!
