Congress Adoratio: New hope for believers in Altötting!

The “Adoratio Altötting 2025” congress will take place on September 26th to 28th, 2025 in the Basilica of St. Anna in Altötting. Bishop Stefan Oster invited people to reflect and pray together under the theme “New Hope”, inspired by Pope Francis. The aim is to focus on Jesus Christ and his presence in the Eucharist. The Congress promises to be a place of encounter and spiritual growth, with the celebration of the Eucharist playing a central role. As bistum-passau.de reports, the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will also have an important meaning in this context.

The event will offer numerous highlights: Bishop Oster himself will speak on Saturday about “Worship – Source of Hope”, while Daniel Lerch will welcome participants on Friday evening with a lecture on “Reasonable Hope”. On Sunday, the well-known speaker Sophia Kuby will present the topic “Living from hope – transforming society” and will also moderate a panel discussion. These are just a few of the many program items that await the audience. A series of workshops, including those by Ferdinand von Degenfeld and Sr. Edith Kußmann OSB, are also offered to provide practical exercises in forms of prayer and support in passing on the faith.

Early bird discount and children's program

Anyone who would like to register early has the opportunity to get a good deal until June 30th: tickets will then only cost 45 euros, instead of 55 euros for the entire weekend (plus advance booking fee). Day tickets are also available, and children and teenagers up to 18 years old can participate free of charge. Families have the chance to register for an exciting children's program offered by the Austrian organization KISI. There is also a special offer for groups: Anyone who buys seven tickets will receive one free. This appeals to a broad audience and promotes a sense of community.

The opportunity to participate is flexible; The congress will also be broadcast via Radio Horeb and the television stations EWTN.TV and K-TV, so that people who cannot be there can also follow the events.

The context of the congress

Eucharistic congresses have a long tradition and are an important element of the Church in shining a spotlight on the mystery of the Eucharist. As explained on vatican.va, these gatherings are intended to better know and love Jesus Christ. Workshops and catechesis help to deepen the theme of the congress and create practical applications for church life. Preparations for the Congress are crucial to ensure spiritual and pastoral fruitfulness that endures beyond the three days.

The experiences and lectures from the past Adoratio Congress 2024 show that such events are a valuable opportunity to deepen faith and provide new impulses for the community. Participants at the last congress, including Bishop Oster, experienced stimulating discussions and exchanges, which were documented and are available to anyone interested.
