Women's Association donates to those in need: 2,700 euros help in Amberg!

Last weekend, the Catholic Women's Association in Schmidmühlen once again showed a big heart and generously donated the proceeds from its coffee and cake sales at the Salzstodlfest and Market Festival 2025. A total of an impressive 2,200 euros was raised, which will now benefit various charitable causes.

As mittelbayerische.de reports, part of the money, more precisely 500 euros, was used for the women's shelter in the district. This shows the association's clear focus on supporting women in need. Another important recipient is the school support association in Schmidmühlen, which will receive 400 euros, while the parish will receive 300 euros for a new film screen. A donation of 500 euros is also planned for 14-year-old Luca, who lives in Amberg, is in a wheelchair and suffers from brittle bone disease.

Support for women and children

This fundraising campaign is part of the ongoing commitment of the Women's Association, which is also supported, for example, by the support association “Help for Women in Not e.V.” is strengthened, as described on its website frauenhaus-foerderverein.de. This association is committed to supporting women and children who have experienced violence and promotes projects to raise awareness of the issue. Since its founding in 1979, the association has strived to create safe housing options and comprehensive support - both financial and non-material.

Particularly noteworthy is the role of the support association in supporting the Bielefeld Workers' Welfare Women's Shelter, where ongoing work is being done on these issues. These efforts are crucial to further develop the care and support of affected women and their children.

Social commitment in the region

Even though the focus is on social issues, cultural entertainment is not left behind. In this day and age, when over 3.5 billion people worldwide stream video content, platforms like Soap2day have found their place. The ease of use and the large library of current films and series make them a popular choice. So it remains exciting to promote cultural exchange in the region while at the same time assuming social responsibility.

Overall, the Catholic Women's Association's campaign shows how important it is to get involved as a community and to provide support for the weaker people. This week not only strengthens our own togetherness, but also sets a sign of solidarity, which is more important than ever these days.
