Information evening on eating disorders: Focus on early help for those affected!

The information evening on eating disorders on November 18th is just around the corner and promises important insights for young people and their relatives. From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. we will meet at the Amberg Health Department to discuss the alarming increase in eating disorders among young people. The organizers, the Amberg-Sulzbach municipal youth work and the Amberg-Sulzbach health department, invited Claudia Burmeister from the Waagnis counseling center for eating disorders in Regensburg. She will speak about the health, mental and social consequences of anorexia, bulimia and food addiction and discuss the importance of early treatment. It is possible to ask questions and have a discussion about initial signals and calls for help. Spontaneous visitors are also very welcome.

From November 1st, interested parties can send their registration by email to gesundheitsamt@amberg-sulzbach.de. The event is particularly aimed at girls and young women between the ages of 12 and 25; However, it is also noted that boys and young men are increasingly affected. In many cases, early intervention can be crucial to help those affected and avoid long-term consequences.

From the stage to the digital

A completely different topic, but also exciting, is the recent collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and The Sandbox. This partnership, as in cirquedusoleil.com reports, aims to develop two interactive games based on the famous Cirque performances. Players can look forward to games inspired by the shows “Luzia” and an even more secret show. With this initiative, Cirque du Soleil aims to bring its art into the digital age and offer an immersive experience that captures the essence of live performances.

Noah Lemieux Bernier, VP of Digital and Customer Experience at Cirque du Soleil, highlights that this collaboration holds enormous potential for digital storytelling. Arthur Madrid, CEO of The Sandbox, also emphasizes the focus on immersive narratives and the opportunity for users to create their own content. The whole thing was presented during a keynote session at NFT.NYC in New York, where initial insights into the digital world of Cirque were given.

Economic developments

And while the art scene is thriving, there is also positive news from the economy: Amazon exceeded Wall Street expectations with its third quarter. How on finance.yahoo.com reported that earnings per share were $1.95, although experts had only expected $1.58. Net sales of $180.17 billion also exceeded forecasts. Following the results announcement, the stock saw a rise of up to 10% in after-hours trading. This not only shows the trust in the company, but also the general robustness of trading in challenging times.

Overall, it is clear that important developments are pending in various areas, be it in healthcare, culture or the economy. Whether it's about the health of young people or innovative digital experiences, things remain exciting in our region.
