Ransbachs Kirwa: A festival under the linden trees that inspires!
This year's Ransbacher Kirwa took place under a shady canopy of lime trees. As the Central Bavarian reported that the Kirwa tree, festively decorated with white and blue garlands, was a real eye-catcher at its original location. The festival took place in Dieter Winter's historic barn, whose building offered a pleasant coolness and a rustic beer garden character.
As is the tradition of the Ransbacher Kirwa, Sunday began with a solemn service in the St. Peter branch church. It was particularly exciting when dancing out the tree: Due to the summer temperatures, the ceremony was quickly moved to the cool shade of the lime trees. The group “Roum-Bouam” provided the musical accompaniment to the Kirwa dances.
Kirwa with tradition and innovation
For Leonie Schiessl and Patrick Hollweck, last year's Kirwa couples, there is reason to be happy: They are extending their commitment for another year and would like to thank Dieter Winter with a Kirwa-Schnoderhüppfl. Another highlight was the raffle for the Kirwa tree, which Vinzenz Praller won, while the Kirchweih couples from Pfaffenhofen drove home with their Kirwa tree. The hope of being able to hold the Ransbacher Dorfkirchweih again in the Stadl next year remains alive.
In Weigenhofen everything revolves around the Kirwa, where the Kirchweihverein Weigenhofen e. V. is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The festivities begin on the first weekend in September, and like that Lower Bavarian As you can see, a traditional meeting to set up and convert the festival tent is planned for the Sunday before the Kirwa. A thank you meal will be organized for the helpers in the form of a bird soup meal, prepared by the catering company Süß & Pikant from Forchheim.
