Full closure to B299: Lane renewal from July to August 2025!

In an important initiative to improve the street infrastructure, the federal road 299 between the district border and Lauterhofen will be extensively renewed from July 21, 2025. The construction work, which is to last until mid-August 2025, include the renewal of the asphalt binder and cover layer on a distance of about 2.0 kilometers. This includes milling of the existing upper building and the completion through a new asphalt superstructure. The aim of these measures is to improve traffic safety and the long-term preservation of the street infrastructure, such as Neumarkt Aktuell reports.

The B 299 is completely blocked during the construction work. Road users are redirected from Amberg via the State Streets ST 2235 and ST 2240 to Prönsdorf. From there it goes over the district road NM 1 back to the B 299. In the opposite direction, the detour is analogous. Drivers on the A 6 motorway in the direction of Nuremberg are pointed out to the upcoming closure in front of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg junction and asked to use the Alfeld junction and the Staatsstraße ST 2236 and the district road NM 9 to the Oberölsbach junction. The detour will be well signposted. However, it is requested for understanding for possible impairments of road users and residents.

construction work in several sections

But not only in Lauterhofen is road construction on the agenda. The lane renewal of Bundesstraße 299 between Berching and the confluence of the state road 2251 towards Wallnsdorf is also imminent. This work begins on June 24, 2024 and should be completed by the end of August 2024. Overall, there will be three construction phases in this area, which are carried out one after the other to minimize the traffic effects, as the State Building Office Bavaria reports.

  • construction phase 1: June 24 - July 16, 2024, 2.1 km from the confluence of the district road NM3 to state road 2251, detour via Kreisstraße NM3 to Oening.
  • construction phase 2: July 17th - August 2, 2024, parallel to the first section to Hospitalstraße in Berching. The access to the hospital road remains.
  • construction phase 3: August 5 - August 23, 2024, diversion similar to the second section, access here too.

As the road construction progresses, there is also an innovative approaches that are now being pursued in many countries. According to the [Construction Briefing] (https://www.constructionbriefing.com/de/news/strabenbau-grune-initiatives-initiatives-initiatives-und-neue-technologies/8045618.article, the global demand for roads will continue to increase. For 2024, growth in the road construction sector is expected of 2-5%, while investments in new technologies and sustainable construction processes are increasingly being promoted.

The construction industry sees the pressure placed on developing more efficient and more environmentally friendly technologies. This includes the use of new machines that reduce the noise and emissions during the construction process, which is particularly important in urban areas. Experts expect the use of temperature -deflected asphalt to increase in construction projects in the near future in order to reduce environmental pollution.

Overall, it is clear: The planned construction work once again shows how important a well -developed and safe road network is for the municipalities. Everyone involved is invited to show patience during the work, because in the end everyone benefits from a better infrastructure.
