6,000 euros for the farmers' museum: cultural history remains alive!
There is currently a lot happening for regional culture in the picturesque Oberschönenfeld. The Sparkassenstiftung Schwaben-Bodensee has supported the preservation of the Staudenhaus Farmers' Museum with a generous amount of 6,000 euros. This was through landkreis-augsburg.de announced. District Administrator Martin Sailer praised the essential efforts of the local history association, which manages the historic building and is actively committed to preserving the regional cultural history.
The Staudenhaus Farm Museum celebrated its opening in 1980 after the last thatched house in the region, which stood in Döpshofen, was demolished and rebuilt true to the original. This initiative goes to Prof. Dr. Hermann Endrös, the district home care officer at the time, returned. Since then, the museum has developed into a lively place of traditional crafts and everyday culture, where exhibitions, events and documentation take place regularly.
A place for learning and meeting
While visitors during the week may be able to take a look at the renovation work currently being carried out on the roof of the Staudenhaus, the museum has now reopened after the winter break. The renovation aims to replace the historic rye-straw roof with a thatched roof in order to preserve the original appearance of the house. Daniel Gastl, the chairman of the Sparkasse Schwaben-Bodensee, emphasizes the importance of such regional museums as special places of learning and firmly supports the local association's commitment.
Anyone who visits the Staudenhaus Farm Museum can embark on a journey of discovery on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. between April and October. The regular tours are not only informative, but also invite you to immerse yourself in the rich cultural history of the region. The doors are wide open and those responsible cordially invite anyone interested to visit the museum in large numbers. Further information can be found on landkreis-augsburg-kultur.de.
Oberschönenfeld shows how vital regional cultural mediation is and what important role the farmers' museum plays in this. With the support of foundations and the tireless efforts of the local history association, traditions can stay alive and reach new generations. A good hand for the cultural future!
