Bamberg Baskets start their preparation for the season with a clear victory!
A successful start to the new season! The BMA365 Bamberg Baskets presented themselves in impressive form last weekend and impressively won their first test game of the upcoming season preparation with 87:63 against SYNTAINICS MBC. In the SWH.arena in Halle, Bamberg showed right from the start that they wanted to approach the new season with a strong team spirit and a lot of energy. After a furious start, the Baskets clearly led 27:14 after the first quarter and dominated the action on the floor.
The first half continued to go in Bamberg's favor, as they demonstrated their defensive aggressiveness in the first few minutes of the game. With an impressive 50:29 score at halftime, they were able to keep the game calm. Despite the absence of some key players, such as Moritz Krimmer, who is injured, and Richard Balint, who is on duty for the national team, Bamberg managed to bring their performance to the point. As a precaution, EJ Onu was rested and did not play.
Strong individual performances
The performance of Demarcus Demonia, who was the Baskets' best scorer with 17 points, was particularly outstanding. It was clear that the Bambergers had already internalized their playing routines well. Daniel Keppeler, who was injured shortly after half-time, also showed a strong performance up to this point and was ultimately able to continue the game. The Baskets finally dominated the third quarter by extending their lead to 74:43.
The final quarter was marked by the decline of Bamberg's lead, as MBC was able to reduce the deficit by ten points in the second half of the fourth period, but the final score of 87:63 was never in danger. On the MBC side, Foster scored 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Heck contributed 12 points and Planinić added 9 points. After the game, coach Anton Gavel emphasized that although the team had found a promising rhythm, there was still a lot of work to be done to further refine the processes.
