At his workplace he ordered various plant poisons that were found during later searches and planned several attacks on his wife between August 2023 and December 2024.

In a shocking twist, the wife survived all attacks but required medical attention and was hospitalized for a time. As a result of the poisoning, she even received a pacemaker. The last failed murder attempt occurred in December 2024, when the man prepared a poisoned frozen pizza, which was also eaten by his adult son. This led to life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. What is particularly alarming is the compassion that the defendant apparently did not show during the emergency response of the paramedics. He watched the rescue efforts without showing any signs of concern or compassion.
The trial will involve numerous days of hearings and a verdict is expected in November 2025. The defendant made a confession, but was unable to place the precise timing of the crime.
