Bayreuth Innovative: Experience the future of technology in the city park!

Next Saturday, June 21, 2025, the city park in downtown Bayreuth will be transformed into a lively stage for innovation and creativity. Under the motto “Mission Innovation – fit for the future,” the “Bayreuth Innovative” event invites visitors to experience the exciting connection between science, business and society up close. The whole thing is organized by the city of Bayreuth, the IHK Oberfranken Bayreuth, the Upper Franconian Chamber of Crafts and the University of Bayreuth, who are working together to put together an interactive program that really leaves nothing to be desired. Bayreuther Tagblatt reports that over a hundred innovative projects and companies will take part.

The event is not only an opportunity to marvel, but also a platform for exchanging ideas and technologies that will shape our future. The program includes, among other things, exciting technology games, experiments, 3D printing and even virtual reality exercises. If you want something a little healthier, you can prepare fresh drinks on the smoothie bike - a hit for all ages.

Six innovation labs at the University of Bayreuth present current projects at “Bayreuth Innovativ” that take a look into the future of technology. Here are some highlights:

• Game Innovation Lab: Spiele als Forschungsinstrument – interaktive Stationen laden zum Ausprobieren ein.
• Keylab Additive Innovationen: Testen Sie Ihre Fähigkeiten beim 3D-Druck, inklusive einer Basketball-Challenge mit einem 3D-gedruckten Ball.
• Keylab Glastechnologie: Hier können Sie widerstandsfähiges Glas in Aktion erleben.
• Material Innovation Lab: Entdecken Sie neuartige Materialien beim Dosenwerfen mit einem gepressten Schaumball.
• Food Valley Kulmbach: Setzen Sie sich mit den Themen Ernährung, Technologie und Nachhaltigkeit auseinander und genießen Sie frische Smoothies vom Smoothie-Bike.

There is also the opportunity to find out about career opportunities at the University of Bayreuth. With around 2,700 employees, it is one of the largest employers in the region and is constantly looking for new talent. Representatives from the university management and the human resources department will be on site to answer questions and provide insights into various professional fields. Uni Bayreuth highlights that this initiative is also part of a larger trend in how people and technology are increasingly connecting with each other.
