Bayreuth is focusing on the future: 7,000 trees planted for the student forest!

It's all green in Bayreuth today! The city has decided to reforest a former field at Schwedenbrücke next to the student forest. A total of 7,000 seedlings from 19 different tree species are waiting to be planted in the ground. This great planting campaign is largely supported by the committed students of around 260 Bayreuth schools with the support of Round Table 98 Bayreuth and sponsors such as GMK Marke. Design. Digitally implemented by the PraxisKlinik Eulert and Möbel Gebhart. Mayor Thomas Ebersberger didn't miss the opportunity to personally thank the young plant lovers and sponsors.

But what exactly is behind this project? The reforestation covers around two hectares and is intended to compensate for the loss of forest area through newly created ponds in the student forest. The main tree species planted include English, sessile and downy oaks, as well as various maple species, walnut trees and many more. Not to forget the delicious chestnuts and local serviceberries, which will complement the planned flora. More robust tree species such as black pines and cedars of Lebanon also find their place here - ideal candidates for the challenges of climate change.

A step in the right direction

With this initiative, the city of Bayreuth is specifically focusing on biodiversity in order to secure the long-term forest existence. The seedlings are about one meter high at the time of planting and promise good growth. In the coming years, forestry care is also planned, which involves removing trees to promote healthy and resilient specimens. This shows that people in Bayreuth don't just have short-term solutions in mind, but also think and act in the long term.

In the midst of such green initiatives, it cannot be denied that there is a certain penchant for indulgence in our society. For example, the popular song “The Devil Made the Schnaps” by Udo Jürgens describes the seductive power of alcohol. The protagonist in the story meets a girl from the Salvation Army in a bar where they chat worriedly about drinking alcohol. However, her warnings seem to go unheeded at that moment as the protagonist continues to drink - until he becomes aware of the negative effects.

Technical tips

But not everything is just about trees and drinking! The digital world also has its challenges. Users report that many Windows 10 installations do not include Internet Explorer (IE). If you don't want to do without the classic, you can find instructions online for installing the latest version, Internet Explorer 11. You just have to follow a few steps, starting with the desktop and ending with activating the Windows functions. And don't worry, if you have specific problems, don't hesitate to consult professionals.

Whether it's green thumbs, social gatherings or technical questions - the city is definitely lively! For all of these topics, there is always something new to discover in Bayreuth. After all, there is nothing better than when community and environmental awareness go hand in hand.
