Bayreuth starts innovation offensive: start -up center on campus!

A new era for Bayreuth is emerging: The regional innovation and start-up center (RIZ) is to be built on the campus of the University of Bayreuth. The discussions about this project have been going through the city for nine years, but now it seems to be serious. The city council has now voted on to sign a public law contract with the district. This was reported by Kurier emphasized.

The contract primarily regulates the construction and operation of the Riz. The district committee will vote on the contract on Friday, June 27th. If the district committee is approved, the RIZ can be sealed almost and the long -planned company recording is planned for the end of 2028. This view brings a breath of fresh air to the Bavarian start -up scene.

investments in the future of economy

The financial framework conditions are now also set: the city of Bayreuth is the sole client to support the district with an investment allowance of 4.36 million euros. The Free State of Bavaria already flow 7.56 million euros in government grants. Nevertheless, there is an amount of 13 million euros, which the city of Bayreuth has to raise from its own resources. The entire building is expected to cost around 25 million euros, such as bayreuth.de reported.

Mayor Thomas Ebersberger confidently commented on the riz and emphasized its importance for the competitiveness of the Bayreuth Economic Region. A strong start -up center could not only promote local companies, but also become a magnet for investments.

collaboration for innovation

The RIZ is realized in close cooperation with the University of Bayreuth, the economy and the chambers of business. The contracts for using the property on campus have already been concluded. This is underpinned by the history of the Federal Association of German Innovation, Technology and Founding Centers (BVIZ), which has supported the interests of innovation centers since its foundation in 1988. The association has set itself the goal of promoting technology transfer and company start -ups in Germany. With around 350 centers and over 13,000 companies, the BViz has a thick crowd of experience that could also be useful for the RIZ in Bayreuth, such as Wikipedia shown.

The foundation of the RIZ not only combines local ambitions, but also a wide range of partnership and supportive networks that have one thing in mind in the coming years: innovation. How the city of Bayreuth will continue to drive the riz remains exciting - it is certain that this step is to laid an important foundation for the future economic landscape.
