There are some exciting special tours on the program in Bayreuth next weekend, which should delight not only those interested in culture, but also fans of the Netflix series “The Empress”. At various historically valuable locations, visitors can experience the splendor and secrets of bygone eras up close. That's how it reports Bayreuther Tagblatt that the “Imperial on the Road” tour will take place on Sunday, August 17th. Here participants have the opportunity to explore filming locations in the series, which tells the story of Elisabeth of Bavaria, wife of Emperor Franz Joseph.
The tour begins at 2:45 p.m. at the ticket office of the Old Hermitage Palace. For 9 euros per person, participants can visit, among other things, the Hermitage Park as well as the Palace and the Fantaisie Park. Registrations are required and can be made by telephone on 0921 75969-37 or directly at the cash desk.
More exciting tours
There's even more in store for those interested this weekend. Other themed tours include the “Hidden Treasures of the Italian Castle” event on Thursday, August 14th. The treasures of the “Rosewood Room” and the coin cabinet can be viewed here. Participation costs 10 euros per person. The meeting point is at the ticket office of the New Bayreuth Palace; registration is also recommended here.
On Friday, August 15th, at 3 p.m., “Courtly splendor and mock hermitage” will go to the Hermitage of Margrave Georg Wilhelm, where information about the grotto and the ballroom will be provided. The cost is also 9 euros per person.

A special highlight for families will take place on Wednesday, August 13th. Here children aged 6 to 12 can discover the baroque stage magic in the Margravial Opera House. The “Adventure Opera House” tour begins at 10:15 a.m. in the museum foyer. The cost is only 3 euros per child, an accompanying adult is required and must pay the 10 euros entrance fee.
