Timken Foundation donates $150,000 for palliative care in Bayreuth
Palliative care at the Bayreuth Clinic is getting a real boost with a generous donation of $150,000 from the Timken Foundation. This makes this the largest single donation in the history of Klinikum Bayreuth GmbH. This groundbreaking support was presented in July of this year and represents a significant step towards improving medical care for patients in the region. Robert Timken, the head of the foundation, personally visited the palliative care clinic to get an idea of the valuable work on site.
He was accompanied by a high-profile delegation, including Mayor Thomas Ebersberger, Managing Director Dietmar Pawlik and Dr. Sabine Gernhardt, the director of the clinic. Ebersberger took the opportunity to inform Timken about other social infrastructure projects in Bayreuth that also rely on financial support.
Commitment to the community
The Timken Foundation, an independent foundation of the Timken Company based in the USA, has been committed to social commitment for many years. In addition to the current donation for palliative medicine, the foundation also invests in the construction of kindergartens and works closely with organizations such as the Red Cross and Caritas. Just recently, the Bayreuth City Library received a sum of almost 75,000 euros for its innovative open library concept. Such initiatives help create a strong community and show the importance of social responsibility.
This year, the Timken Foundation's support in the region will now exceed an impressive $1 million. These numbers speak for themselves and underline the lasting influence that the foundation has on the lives of people in Bayreuth. For over a century, the Timken Foundation has donated more than $400 million worldwide, making it a major player in the area of social responsibility.
A call for positive design
Positive thinking can make a big difference for many. Just as the Timken Foundation offers its support, each individual is also called upon to get actively involved. There is a saying: “Good things attract good things.” In this sense, it is crucial to recognize daily opportunities, be they in the form of small gestures or larger commitments. The positive thoughts you take with you into the day can change the course of your life. Use every day to do something good and pursue your goals - it can make a big difference in the end.
Starting the day with a smile and focusing on the little joys in life can also lead to positive change. Each of us can start each day anew and focus on the good - that's a message that is particularly well received in Bayreuth given the support of the Timken Foundation.
