Young golfers shine: Second place for GC Berchtesgadener Land!

On June 23, 2025, the third matchday of the Bavarian Youth League took place in picturesque Weng. The Berchtesgadener Land Golf Club was able to compete in front of a home crowd and showed that they are able to shine even under difficult conditions. Despite an unfavorable weather forecast that suggested a few short showers, it remained largely dry and the tension among players and spectators was palpable.

The young talents from Weng had expected a lot, but they initially got off to a slow start. But the committed team from GC Berchtesgadener Land knew how to prove themselves and fought back impressively. Ultimately the team finished in second place behind the leading teams. Even non-deployed team members were on site to support their colleagues - a real sign of team spirit and cohesion.

The Bavarian Youth League competition

The Bavarian Youth League is divided into groups of four, with a total of four match days, including a home match day. Each team consists of four players, with the three best net results per match day being included in the ranking. This gives the teams the opportunity to catapult themselves into the final of the best 21 teams through strong individual performances.

The rules stipulate that both girls and boys can play on mixed teams. Clubs are allowed to register up to six teams for the championship. Teams already participating in the BMM Netto will automatically be accepted into the Bavarian Youth League. A huge advantage for the talent as it allows them to continually perform at a high level. The group classification for 2025 is based on the results of previous years and takes place in accordance with the 2024 call for proposals.
