Students from Teisendorf Middle School raised an impressive 12,000 euros!
It was an exciting day at the Teisendorf Middle School when students from all 13 classes took part in the big fundraising run. A total of impressive 12,000 euros was raised, which teacher Markus Furtner proudly announced. The students were not only involved in school causes, but also in charitable causes. The donations went to class coffers as well as to organizations that urgently need support.
Who are the masterminds behind this success? The students themselves! They were looking for personal sponsors - including parents, grandparents and numerous local businesses who also took part in the campaign. Sponsors could be won for every lap completed or a maximum amount per student.
A run with heart
The 2,659 laps completed are proof of the enthusiasm of the participants. The teachers also did their part by taking part in the run. It was decided that a third of the money collected would be used for school trips, for purchases for the school building and playground, and for social purposes.
The support for the Oberteisendorf Children's Cancer Aid, which received 1,500 euros, is particularly pleasing. The Tafel Teisendorf and the youth group of the BRK Feier Teisendorf also receive 1,000 euros each. These amounts were decided to continue to support social projects and help children in need.
The best of the best
Of course there was also a small honor for the best runners. Eva Waldhutter and Magdalena Helminger shone among the girls, both running an impressive 18 laps. The boys were a bit faster, with Johannes Rosmer completing an incredible 22 laps. As a small reward, the best received sponsored fruit drink yoghurts.
But the students’ commitment doesn’t stop there. Class M 10 has founded a student company called “Calendar Group”, which creates a calendar with drawings from all grades. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar will also go to charity. The students were recently able to hand over 150 euros to the children's cancer charity, which underlines the solidarity and social responsibility. Ms. Baumgartner, the chairwoman of the Children's Cancer Aid, accepted the check with great joy.
These campaigns are a wonderful example of how students can achieve great things through their own ideas and commitment. Sponsors who have taken part so far show that it is worth investing in the next generation. Together with great ideas like that of Plan International, who help organize fundraising runs, it is clear that something is really happening in Teisendorf.
