Neustadt celebrates: children's festival with music, fun and culinary highlights!

On a warm summer evening in July, the town of Neustadt becomes the scene of a very special festival. On Friday, July 11, 2025, the starting signal will be given for the traditional children's festival, which delights the little ones and their families alike. At 7 p.m. the band “JOJO” will play on the market square and heat up the party mood. But it's not just the opening event that's special. On Saturday, July 12th, the children's festival is in full swing. A traditional musical wake-up call will sound at 6 a.m., which will build anticipation for the big parade at 1 p.m. The parade moves through the city center and offers spectators a colorful spectacle in which students from Neustadt schools, the puppet fairy, music bands and members of the city association of Neustadt sports clubs take part - a special highlight on the occasion of the 100th anniversary. Preparations are in full swing

In order to properly prepare for the festival, Neustadt residents can pick up flags, balloons and bunting for decorative house design from July 1st at kultur.werk.stadt. These activities, which take place from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and also on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., help to decorate the city festively. Colorful balloon decoration flowers will also be distributed on Wednesday, July 9th - one per household while supplies last. The company “Hexenwerk Decoration” has kindly sponsored 50 decorative flowers, which can be picked up on Thursday, July 10th between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

After the parade, there will be relay demonstrations, calisthenics and dances from the Neustadt schools on the Schützenplatz. There are also numerous rides, food stalls and musical entertainment waiting for visitors, including from the school band from Am Moos Middle School, which performs from 6 p.m. to around 8 p.m.

The crowning finale: market festival

The children's festival weekend comes to a grand conclusion on Sunday, July 13th, with the market festival. The day starts at 10 a.m. with an ecumenical service on the market square, followed by a morning pint with the Neustadt town band at 11 a.m. From 1 p.m. the Neustadt Youth Orchestra will provide musical entertainment, while from 2 p.m. a diverse children's program will be offered around the market square. The end of the weekend will be with the party band “Frankenfeuer”, which will create a great atmosphere in the parking lot from 3 p.m.
