Edelweiss Youth starts: New opportunities for young musicians in Einsbach!

A lot is happening in the musical life of Einsbach: The Einsbach Music Association has initiated the founding of a new youth band, which has given itself the illustrious name Edelweiß-Jugend. This was recently announced. The band's first rehearsal will take place on Friday, September 19th, at 6:30 p.m. in the rehearsal room of the Edelweißkapelle in the Einsbach parish hall. All music-loving young people are cordially invited to stop by and experience the first rehearsal up close.

Participation in the Edelweiss Youth is open to all young musicians who have been playing a wind instrument or drums for at least a year. Under the direction of Florian Ewald, who studied clarinet at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, the focus is on enjoying making music together and building a performance repertoire. “The selection of notes is adapted to the abilities of the musicians,” says Ewald, who always lives his commitment to the Einsbach Music Association with enthusiasm. The rehearsals are free, only one parent has to become a supporting member of the club, which involves an annual fee of 20 euros.

Performance opportunities for young talents

A highlight for the young people is the prospect of future opportunities to perform in the Edelweißkapelle. Making music together is also intended to strengthen social skills and promote teamwork. The Edelweiss youth rehearses once a week for about an hour and a half, which not only offers a good opportunity to make music, but also contributes to the development of a spirit of camaraderie.

The joy of making music and the challenges associated with it were most recently impressively demonstrated at the spring concert of the youth band of the music association in Busenbach. The youth band and the wind band performed there with success. “It takes discipline and consideration from everyone involved to master such performances in front of a full Kurhaus,” says youth conductor Dietmar Schulze, describing the efforts that were necessary in advance. The protégés' performance is viewed with pride and is intended to provide incentive for further musical challenges. Parents whose children are interested in making music are also encouraged to contact the youth leaders.

Inclusion in the brass class

As part of the developments in wind music, the inclusive work of wind music classes is also an important topic. The German Wind Music Youth has initiated projects to create a basis for inclusive musical work in schools. A large number of schools participate in this program to enable children with special educational needs to take part in wind music classes. The high proportion of students with special needs reveals challenges that can, however, be overcome through targeted training and support. The goal is that every child, regardless of their requirements, has the opportunity to learn to make music and be integrated into a community.

For further information about the Edelweiß Youth or the inclusion offers, Evi Hoffmann, conductor of the Edelweißkapelle, is available on 01 78/7 82 21 09 and by email (eviprobst@web.de). Anyone who would like to get involved in the musical adventure or find out more about the wind class is warmly invited to get in touch and become part of this wonderful initiative.
