Women in power: panel discussion on the political future!

On July 21, 2025, things will get hot in the large meeting room of the district office. Under the title “Women – Power Politics” there will be an exciting panel discussion at 7 p.m. that is dedicated to encouraging women to get involved politically, especially with a view to the local elections coming up next spring. This seems like a good reason to think: How much female voice does politics actually need?

The event, which is led by the committed moderator Sonja Epple, brings together four remarkable women: Stephanie Burgmaier from the CSU, who brings a lot of experience as a district councilor, Marianne Klaffki from the SPD, Marese Hoffmann from ALLIANCE 90/THE GREENS and Martina Purkhardt from the Free Voters. They will all talk about challenges and opportunities for women in the political landscape, a topic that is very popular at the moment. Admission is free and registration is not required - so there's no reason to miss this event!

Female representation in politics

The importance of female voices in politics is underlined once again by a current study by the IU International University. According to the study, 63.5 percent of those surveyed in Germany believe that more women in political leadership roles would govern the world better. A certain discomfort with gender-specific prejudices also becomes clear: 69.8 percent of those surveyed see men as having an advantage, even if women are equally or better qualified. This shows that the need for more diversity in political leadership positions is undisputed. The study highlights that 66.8 percent of those surveyed see advantages in a diverse political leadership, which further underlines the importance of such discussion groups.

In another discussion on the topic "Women. Power. Politics." SPD Vogelsberg and Jusos invite you to an exchange about the role of women in politics. Celebrity guests such as Dr. Josefine Koebe, General Secretary of the Hesse SPD, and Marion Kuchenny, HR moderator, will also chat about challenges and opportunities in political life. Such events provide an important dialogue that shows how necessary change is and how it can be initiated. Something is happening and it's worth being a part of it!

Angela Merkel, as former Chancellor of Germany, has taken a few steps towards setting the course for women in politics, but the journey is far from over. More than ever, such initiatives are needed to bring women into political bodies - an aspect that the panel discussion participants will certainly address.

In summary, when it comes to giving women more space in politics and leadership positions, every dialogue is an important step. Events like the one on July 21st offer the opportunity to exchange ideas, network and work together on better representation. There is an exciting time ahead of us and we are excited to see what new ideas and impulses will be developed in the coming days!

Stay informed and don't miss the opportunity to have your voice heard - not only about this event, but also about how you can contribute to a more equal political landscape.
