The ice hockey fans in Passau experienced an exciting derby on Sunday evening, which took place in the sold-out ice arena in front of 1,500 spectators. In the duel between Deggendorfer SC and the Passau Black Hawks, the Deggendorfers won 4-1 and thus consolidated their position at the top of the table. Deggendorfer SC celebrated its eighth win in a row after struggling with difficulties at the start of the season. The PNP portal reports that Petr Stloukal ended his goalless series with his goal to make it 3-1 in the 53rd minute and became the match winner.
After a goalless first third, in which the Black Hawks equalized through Buster Larsson in the 17th minute, the game was an open duel until the 31st minute. Dylan Jackson scored for Deggendorf in the power play and put his team back in the lead. Ty Jackson later added a goal in the final minute, while Stloukal celebrated his seventh goal of the season. Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Deggendorf goalie Timo Pielmeier, who fended off two great chances for Passau, which was crucial for the victory.
