The Otzinger Volksfest once again brought happy faces and unforgettable moments this year. The festival took place from August 1st to August 14th, 2025, and the organizers from the Otzing Cultural Association can draw a consistently positive conclusion. Saturday was a real eye-catcher with the traditional folk festival procession, where participants in festive costumes and the brewery team filled the streets of Otzing. Mayor Johannes Schmid ceremoniously introduced the festival by lighting the first keg of festival beer - a symbolic moment since he has announced that he will no longer run in the local elections in March. Klaus Stoiber presented him with a collage full of memories of 21 years of tapping moments, which certainly not only touched Schmid emotionally.
A colorful program for young and old
But that's not all: Sunday started at 10 a.m. with a Watter tournament and a convivial morning pint, organized by the FC Bayern Fan Club. The queue for lunch with juicy rolled roast was long, and guests were also able to fortify themselves with coffee and cake in the afternoon. An exciting program was offered for the children, ranging from Punch and Judy shows to face painting and fire engines.
The crowning conclusion was a hearty snack in the evening. The raffle brought political wind with it, in which great prizes such as a trip to the state parliament, a trip to Berlin and a convertible weekend were raffled off. A highlight: a 75-inch television that should spice up the home theaters of the lucky winners.
Full commitment from the helpers
Behind the smooth running of the festival were around 140 dedicated helpers who ensured everything from set-up to dismantling. On Tuesday morning, these hard-working helpers started dismantling the tent. They will be in action again at the upcoming event, as the cultural association thanks its supporters every year with a big meal.
Another highlight were the barrels that were brought into the festival tent by the Hacklberg brewery and coachman Reinhard Neubauer. After such a successful festival, we can only hope that next year the Otzinger Volksfest can bring back all these beautiful memories again.
