Firefighter love in Simbach: Wedding of Elena and Martin Brandhuber!

Last weekend, a very special occasion was celebrated in picturesque Simbach in the Dingolfing-Landau district: Elena Brandhuber and Martin Brandhuber got married in the parish church of St. Bartholomew. The two are not only a couple, but also heavily involved in the fire department. Elena is an active firefighter at the Simbach Volunteer Fire Department, while Martin was the long-time commander of the Langgraben Fire Department. This makes the combination of the two a real highlight in the fire service community.

The ceremony took place as part of a solemn service in which numerous comrades from both armed forces took part. These created a warm atmosphere by forming a trellis for the newlyweds. This tradition, which is very popular among firefighters, not only offers a celebratory setting, but also shows the strong sense of togetherness in the community. Markus Heiß, first director of the Simbach fire department, didn't miss the opportunity to congratulate the bride and groom and presented Elena and Martin with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

A celebration with fire brigade tradition

The secular celebration took place at the Gasthof Büchner in Heilmfurt, where a happy celebration took place with family and friends. Such weddings are not only popular in Simbach. The wedding season for firefighters is also evident in other parts of Germany, such as in Oberharmersbach or Herdecke. Here, firefighters traditionally drive to the wedding ceremony in vintage vehicles and are accompanied by their comrades. These special wedding rituals, such as crossing a hose tunnel or forming a trellis, are common among firefighters.

A recent example is Gabriele Haaser from the Oberharmersbach fire department, who also drove to the registry office in a fire truck. After the wedding, the fire brigade colleagues were able to welcome them with fire hoses, which created a lot of joy and a good atmosphere. Such measures not only strengthen the community, they also create unforgettable memories for the bride and groom.

Celebrations all about the fire department

In order to make the celebration even more unforgettable for the firefighters, many bridal couples have become creative: typical wedding rituals such as spraying targets with bucket sprayers or sawing through tree trunks, which are used in this special setting, are both practical and fun. Wedding gifts are often personalized or engraved to celebrate commitment to the fire department and connection to the community.

Elena and Martin's wedding is not only a sign of love, but also of the deep connection with the fire department. Celebrations like this show once again that the fire service is more than just a job - it is a family that sticks together in good times and difficult times. It remains to be hoped that many more couples in the fire department will experience such beautiful moments, because as the saying goes: a life without a fire department is like a party without music!
