Veronika and Andreas: Married 8 years ago today in the Wallersdorf town hall!
Last Saturday afternoon there was reason to be happy in Wallersdorf, where Veronika Schmalhofer and Andreas Wittmann got married. Mayor Franz Aster performed the wedding in the town hall, surrounded by friends and family of the couple. The two met exactly eight years ago - on the same date as their marriage, which was now sealed with a celebratory ring exchange. The ceremony was accompanied musically by Marita Burger, who created the right atmosphere.
Andreas, a trained master automotive technician, and Veronika, who works in retail, live in Straubing and can now toast to what will hopefully be an equally happy time as a married couple. Mayor Aster conveyed warm congratulations on the marriage on behalf of the market town.
Another anniversary in the region
But it's not just the newlywed couple who can celebrate. Another couple from Wallersdorf, Anna and Helmut Achatz, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. As part of a cozy family celebration, the daughters Angelika and Anita as well as the grandchildren Markus, Philipp and Tanja as well as the great-grandchildren Fiz and Leonie came together to celebrate the important event. Mayor Franz Aster and deputy district administrator Franz Gassner did not miss the opportunity to send congratulations afterwards.
Helmut, who was born in Wallersdorf in 1937, can look back on an exciting career that he began in 1957 in the Obag construction crew. Together with his wife Anna, who was born in Ottering in 1940, he shared a passion for rabbit breeding. Helmut was also a founding member of the local rabbit breeding club and was able to achieve a lot throughout his career, including being recognized as a “past master” at the annual meeting of the BZV B668. The proud breeder was even able to present a European champion and a European winner with his Kleinsilver Havana rabbits.
The two couples symbolize what defines the community in Wallersdorf: tradition, cohesion and the joy of life. From the first meeting to the wedding and far beyond - the stories of these families are an expression of lasting values and beautiful memories.
