Riding week in Nördlingen: Zuber and Brenner triumph in the dressage competition!

On October 28, 2025, it was finally that time again: The St. Georg Nördlingen riding and driving club invited everyone to an eagerly awaited WBO tournament in the riding hall at Kaiserwiese. After a break of several years, the new board organized this event, which brought together the best dressage riders in classes E, A and L in the Donau-Ries district. There was a lot of enthusiasm to determine the district champions, and the numerous spectators were equally enthusiastic about the participants' achievements.

The shining winners of the tournament were Mariella Zuber and Valerie Brenner. Mariella Zuber secured the title in A dressage with her pony Morgaine le Fay and achieved an impressive score of 8.5. Their performances were followed by Leonie Lindner (RFV Wemding) and Angela Helme (Rieser Reiterverein Oettingen), who took second and third place. Mariella was also unbeatable in L dressage: Valerie Brenner was able to win the district championship title with a score of 7.3, while Zuber became runner-up district champion with a score of 7.0.

Diverse competitions and new talents

The commitment of the young riders in the E and Hobby Horsing classes was particularly pleasing. Mariella Zuber also won the E-dressage with her pony Holsteins Jakata and received a score of 7.7, which secured her the second district championship title. The vice district championship went to Marie Maier (RFV Wemding), while Klara Rosenwirth (RFV Wemding) took third place. In the hobby horsing area, Lena Kilger, Sophia Bröcker and five-year-old Emilia Simbeck showed remarkable performances. Kilger came third in test 3, Bröcker won silver in test 2 and Simbeck took victory in test 1.

Angelika Hirsch was the judge and kept a close eye on the tests. Barbara Zuber, the club's chairwoman, expressed her satisfaction with the entire day of the tournament and thanked the sponsors, especially VR-Banken Schwaben Nord, who acted as the main sponsor. The commitment of the sponsors and the support of the helpers contributed significantly to the success of the tournament.

Review of the district championships in show jumping

The district championships in show jumping previously took place in Wemding. There Emilia Groß (RFV Wemding) won the E-jumping, followed by Marie Maier (RFV Wemding) and Malie Stefanik (RFV Donauwörth-Mertingen). In the A-jumping, Adriana Ducsek (RFV Donauwörth-Mertingen) secured first place. Sophie Luschka (RFV Donauwörth/Nördlingen) came second, and Lara Rotbauer (TG Pegasus Nord-Ries) came third.

Overall, the WBO tournament in Nördlingen not only offered top performances in dressage riding, but also a platform for many young, talented riders to show their skills. The event was a complete success and met the expectations of everyone involved.
