Discover Poing's story: Georg Stahl's exhibition inspires!
On Thursday, June 26th, there will be atmospheric impressions to experience in the Poing community center. The new exhibition “Poinger Impressions – Pictures from Poing and the surrounding area” opens its doors at 7 p.m. and warmly invites art lovers. The show presents the impressive watercolors of Georg Stahl, an artist who has lived in Poing for 50 years and whose works are deeply rooted in the region. This personal connection makes his art particularly authentic and lively.
The exhibition impressively illuminates local history by focusing on older buildings and streets that reflect the essence of Poing. The motifs that are presented to the audience in a new light include the Seliger-Pater-Rupert-Mayer church, the community center, the agricultural warehouse and the old train station building. The town hall and old farmsteads at the intersection of Schwabener Straße and Kampenwandstraße as well as a cubic industrial building workshop at the entrance to the town near Markt Schwaben will also be on display.
Artistic diversity and insights
The unusual perspectives and lighting moods captured in Stahl's watercolors are particularly interesting. Those interested in art can look forward to a colorful mix of representations. These can delight all those who appreciate the beauty and diversity of the region. The exhibition is open until September 16th. Regular opening hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., although different times may apply during holidays.
In addition to Stahl's watercolors, there is even more to discover: The "Galerie im ZiM", which is set up in the Poing community center, serves as a new exhibition space for local artists. This gallery launched in February and has already shown works by a total of six artists. After Georg Stahl, whose watercolors with water motifs were presented from May 10th until June 19th, the works of Stefani Kling now follow. The gallery offers insights into the creative diversity of the region, a true treasure chest for art lovers!
Free entry and welcoming atmosphere
Special events at the gallery include an “After Hours Exhibition” held on June 6, with free entry between 7 and 10 p.m. Here visitors could freely enjoy the art and at the same time exchange ideas with other interested parties. The regular opening hours of the café that houses the gallery are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In summary, it can be said that Georg Stahl's upcoming exhibition represents another highlight in the Poinger cultural calendar. Anyone interested in the exciting combination of art and local history should definitely not miss this event. The visit promises not only art worth seeing, but also the opportunity to discover Poing's past and present in a completely new way.
