New all-weather tennis courts in Poing – future of sport secured!
New tennis courts have been created in the municipality of Poing, strengthening sport and the community. The new all-weather tennis courts at TC Rot-Weiß Poing were officially opened today. The municipality has put a lot of effort into making this sporting dream come true with a construction subsidy of 400,000 euros. The total costs for the two places amount to around 400,000 euros, with the municipality also paying for preparatory measures such as earthworks and laying supply lines. This good news was received from Merkur.de reported.
The new tennis courts are located east of the sports center, on the dirt road heading north (Ottersberg). The infrastructure around the squares was also supported by the community by providing construction electricity, water and sanitary facilities during the construction phase. In the future, TC Rot-Weiß Poing will be responsible for the maintenance and management of the pitches and will bear the corresponding costs.
Expansion of the sports center
These new pitches are part of a comprehensive partial expansion of the sports center. In the next few years, the community plans to build a new tennis facility with eight clay courts and a clubhouse on the remaining areas. These measures show that sport is very popular in Poing and that the community is actively committed to promoting it. However, it will be exciting to see how the tennis club's situation develops; The current area is intended in the land use plan as an expansion area for the future community cemetery.
The enthusiasm for tennis can be felt at TC Rot-Weiß Poing. The teams have played some spectacular matches during the current season. The men's 30s in particular were able to shine against table leaders STC Munich with 8:1. In other matches, the players were severely challenged by injuries and strong opponents, like the men's 40, who remained without a win against VfB Forstinning, but still maintained a good atmosphere. The entire results of the eighth and ninth matchdays are documented in detail on the club's website: tc-rw-poing.de.
Sports infrastructure in Germany
The current development of tennis courts falls into a larger context of nationwide efforts to improve sports infrastructure. According to a report by Sports field world A survey shows that 68.2% of clubs have the preservation of sports facility infrastructure as their top priority when it comes to construction and renovation projects. The condition of the sports facilities is rated rather poorly on average and shows strong regional differences.
Investments in our own sports facilities were also considerable in 2023, with improving the energy balance and sports functionality in particular being on the agenda of many clubs.
The new tennis courts in Poing are not only a benefit for the club, but also a sign of a growing awareness of the importance of sports infrastructure in the communities. We are excited to see how the situation will develop and wish TC Rot-Weiß Poing much success on the new pitches!
