Discover your dream job: One Day of Trainee” campaign day in Eichstätt!
In Upper Bavaria, the day of repentance and prayer on Wednesday, November 19th will be an exciting event for schoolchildren. On this school-free day, young people have the opportunity to look over the shoulders of numerous companies and gain valuable insights into various apprenticeships. The “A Trainee Day” campaign day is aimed at everyone who would like to find out more about practical training paths and is organized by the IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria and the Wirtschaftsjunioren. Danube Courier reports that companies in the Eichstätt district can register for this campaign to give students an understanding of everyday working life.
The aim of the project is to inform young people in particular about the diverse training opportunities in the region and to give them the opportunity to get to know trainees as ambassadors for their dual training. Last year, over 800 students and almost 400 companies took part in this campaign. The minimum age for participation is 13 years, which gives young people the opportunity to think about their professional career at an early stage. IHK Munich highlights that companies in the region are actively looking for new trainees and offer a variety of training occupations and apprenticeships.
Insights into dual training
Dual vocational training plays a central role in the education system and offers young people not only practical experience, but also the basis for a successful career. According to a study on dual training, which comes from the BIBB survey on training statistics, over 67% of beginners began dual training according to BBiG/HwO in 2019. This shows that dual training is still very popular and opens up a variety of perspectives for young people. Differences in gender and origin are also visible, as 51.7% of the students were female and 12.4% of the beginners in vocational training had foreign nationality. BIBB informs about these statistics and emphasizes the importance of training for young people.
The networking for the action day takes place digitally via a platform on which participants can fill out questionnaires to find suitable training occupations. The wide range of offerings ranges from crafts and services to industry and offers students a wide range of opportunities to discover their own interests and strengths. Participation is open to all companies that provide training or are authorized to provide training, not just IHK member companies.
This initiative is more than just a day on the calendar. It offers young people the chance to actively immerse themselves in the world of careers and perhaps find the right commitment for their future. The organizers are convinced: A good hand in choosing a career can make the crucial difference in your later professional life.
