Schernfeld is buzzing with excitement: the volunteer fire department is preparing for a particularly festive event. From June 12th to 14th, 2026, the defense force will celebrate its 150th anniversary. The Danube Courier reports that preparations have already begun in 2023 with the establishment of a festival committee led by Martin Kammerbauer and Thomas Wurm. The anticipation of the celebrations is palpable, and the festival site near the old water tower promises an atmospheric backdrop.

The motto “Schernfeld has been putting out all fires for 150 years” more than does justice to the occasion. A new logo for the social media presence shows the Schernfeld skyline, including the iconic water tower. In addition to digital communication, an informative commemorative publication will also be created that commemorates the 125th anniversary in 2001. In addition, 18 festival ladies support the committee in their advertising so that the cheers are great.

Festival program for the whole family

The anniversary weekend promises many highlights. On Friday evening the band Illertaler will provide entertainment, while on Saturday a family-friendly afternoon with a vehicle show is on the agenda. Active fire brigade and community spirit
