Forchheim trout shine at the skat tournament in Weilersbach!

On July 12, 2025, an exciting skat tournament took place at the Gasthof Huber in Weilersbach, which attracted players from the entire region. A total of 57 participants, including 29 active members of the Upper Franconian Skat Association and five teams, took on the challenge. The tournament was open to all skat enthusiasts - even those without membership in a skat club could take part, which further increased interest. The conditions of the competition were clear: the game was played in three series of 48 games each, based on the rules of the International Skat Regulations.

The players showed what they can do. In the individual ranking, Hannelore Haase from Bayreuther SC prevailed with 3,492 points and secured first place. He was followed by Dieter Schroeder from Forellen Forchheim, who achieved a great result with 3,383 points. Axel Turloff from 1. SC Coburg rounded off the podium with 3,228 points. Bayreuther SC was also unbeatable in the team rankings and ended up at the top with 12,271 points, followed by SC Arzberg and Forellen Forchheim, who came in third with 10,886 points.

Excellent team performance from Forellen Forchheim

The performance in the tandem ranking was particularly pleasing, where the Forellen team, consisting of Michael Seidel and Dieter Gonschorowski, left the competition behind with 6,174 points. SC Arzberg I secured second place with 5,853 points and Bayreuther SC also had reason to celebrate with 5,845 points. These outstanding results earned Forellen Forchheim 25 valuable points in the annual club rankings of VG 86 (Upper Franconia), which underline the importance of these successes.

The event was organized jointly by the Upper Franconian and Middle Franconian skat players and once again showed how varied and exciting the sport of skat is. The Gasthof Huber has proven itself to be an ideal event location, not least because of the family atmosphere and the excellent organization. Anyone who would like to familiarize themselves with the game of skat has the opportunity to take part in beginners' and advanced courses at the Forchheim Adult Education Center.
