New Tree of Wishes in Moosburg: Gifts for social children!

On October 29, 2025, a very special project will start in Moosburg that will not only light up the eyes of children, but also the hearts of generous citizens. Organized by Renate Pongratz and her dedicated team of ten helpers, the “Tree of Wishes” was created to provide socially disadvantaged children with Christmas presents. This new project is a wonderful continuation of Ferdinand Winterstötter's earlier "Wish Christmas Tree", which was completed after an impressive 20 years.

Preparations for the campaign are already in full swing. The team is supported by, among others, Ines Reithmeier, who turned to “Aunt Emma” to get help with the organization. This support includes the provision of storage space, wrapping paper and financial support. But the Moosburgers' commitment goes far beyond financial support. All kindergartens in the city are invited to take part in this loving project and contact with the institutions is already underway. Unfortunately, this year older children from after-school care centers have to be excluded from the campaign, which is a bit of a downer.

Supporters and course of the campaign

The “Tree of Wishes” will be placed in the counter hall of the Sparkasse Freising-Moosburg, where it will be festively decorated. The cards with the children's wishes are taken there by the visitors, who can then get the gifts and bring them back unwrapped. A well-thought-out process ensures that the gifts are numbered, checked and finally distributed by the kindergartens.

The opening of the campaign will take place on November 10th at the Sparkasse, while the closing ceremony is planned for December 11th. All gifts should be delivered by this date to give the team the opportunity to pack and distribute everything in a timely manner. This ensures that no child in Moosburg goes away empty-handed on Christmas Eve.

A look outside the box

So let's support the initiative and give something back to our Moosburg! The anticipation of the holiday season can be based not only on gifts, but also on the joy of helping others. Renate Pongratz's team shows how easy it can be to make a few wishes come true - and with a big heart and commitment.
