Heaven or hell: torture fun on the three-seater rocks the sports day!

July 19, 2025 was a very special day for the Neureichenau region when the “torture fun” took place on the Dreisessel. Hundreds of athletes gathered to take part in this exciting event that coined the term “combination of torture and fun”. Once again, the backdrop of the Dreisesselberg was the perfect ambience for the challenge, in which the participants had to reach their limits in both uphill running and cycling.

But as hard as the physical exertion was, the last few meters of the route were just as much fun. Here angels and devils warmed up the athletes and created an unforgettable atmosphere shortly before the finish, which was at a dizzying height on the summit of the Dreisessel. The symbolism of this event was unmistakable: heaven and hell met on the path to sporting success, and the sweat of the participants testified to the hard work that went into that day.

A look at tradition

This year the “Tormentation Fun” will be held for the 14th time and the concept is still convincing. The Dreisesselberg event has now become a centerpiece of the Sports Day, which reaches far beyond the local population. The fact is that sports lovers not only in Neureichenau, but from the entire region come to be there. This passion also connects the upcoming events, such as the classic mass start on September 11th, which begins again at 1:15 p.m. in the center of Neureichenau. Here the athletes once again face the challenge of completing the 13 kilometers from the town center up to the Dreisesselberg, with a smile on their face and the motto “full throttle to the finish” in their minds.

Spectators and participants must observe the current Corona regulations. Compliance with the 3Gs – recovered, vaccinated or tested – is another everyday detail that cannot be ignored these days. Nevertheless, the motivation from spectators during the race is guaranteed to get the athletes' adrenaline pumping.

Colorful activities for the little ones

While the adults compete in sporting competitions, the younger generations also have fun. As part of the children's program, a games course is organized for children aged 5 to 13. The little ones can get active here between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The diverse offering ranges from archery and abseiling to slacklining and wood layering. And best of all: Participation is uncomplicated and free of charge – every child receives a prize!

Conclusion: The “torturous fun” on the three-seater chair not only combines the will to perform and fun, but is also a real communal experience that invites you to join in.
